Mission & Vision Statement

The Stronger Families project is focused on improving outcomes among families who have been affected by incarceration. Stronger Families operates out of the Alms Center in Bridgeton, NJ, where individuals are connected with a Family Advocate to establish plans for employment, housing, and family visits upon release.

Program Description

Stronger Families coordinates family-focused events for families involved in the justice system, allowing them to spend more quality time with their children and significant others than they would otherwise. They also facilitate outreach events throughout Bridgeton, providing mentoring opportunities for youth throughout the area.

Program Services

Stronger Families provides free and confidential one-on-one life coaching to help whole families achieve their dreams from college attainment to home ownership to career advancement.  We work with the entire family to develop a written plan, to set achievable goals, and to take action on a consistent basis to make real and lasting progress.

About the Collaboration

Stronger Families is a collaborative project of Temple Vision, United Advocacy Group, Police Athletic League of Bridgeton, the Cumberland County College, and the Bridgeton Family Success Center. The collaborative partners work together with whole families to develop written family action plans that address immediate needs; set long-term, measurable, self-identified goals; and track progress towards behavioral outcomes and goal achievement. Stronger Families provides support to families by holding office hours at the Alms Center, at the Bridgeton Family Success Center, and by meeting with families at convenient locations throughout the community.

Stronger Families offers three primary services:

  • One-on-one life coaching for families in the Bridgeton community.

  • Holistic reentry support for families who have a loved one incarcerated at the Cumberland County Jail.

  • Family support services, including structured after-school activities, tutoring, workshops, and family volunteer opportunities.
